Dr. Dave Shoemaker, a Ph.D. microbiologist and retired U.S. Army officer, dedicated 21 years to advancing medical product development for the military, including securing FDA clearance for the first anthrax diagnostic test, the Gamma Phage Assay. With experience at the FDA, he provided expert guidance on FDA-regulated products to the Department of Defense, including advising General James Mattis on the risks of deploying the unapproved Theranos diagnostic device.
